Onur Atilla — Biography

Rüştü Onur Atilla was born on 18 May 1986 in the Samatya district of Istanbul. He discovered theatre as a child, decided to pursue it seriously while attending Aydın Doğan Anatolian Vocational High School of Communication, and from 2001 performed with a range of companies. In 2012 he graduated from Anadolu University together with the Acting Department of the PERA Academy of Fine Arts. From 2006 he worked as an actor, writer and teacher with Tiyatro Kılçık and Tiyatro Bahane, and also with Tiyatro Kedi and Tiyatro Pera.

He has been productive off camera too: he wrote and performed the comedy programme Partal on TRT Okul, did voice and writing work for Kasaba and Karagöz on TRT Çocuk, and taught creative drama at the Tarlabaşı Community Centre and in state schools. On screen he began with Kavak Yelleri, Şen Yuva, Huzurum Kalmadı and Kahve Bahane. His real recognition came as İbrahim Çekiç on Güldür Güldür Show, running on Show TV since 2013. In 2019 he hosted the contest Gel Hemşerim, and in 2020 appeared in the series 10 Bin Adım.

His films include Eyyvah Eyvah, Eyyvah Eyvah 3, Olur Olur, Yola Çıkmak, Dedemin Fişi, Salur Kazan: Zoraki Kahraman, Cici Babam, Can Dostlar, Hareket Sekiz, İngiliz Anahtarı: Recep Usta and Ayşe Tatile Çıktı. He married Sinem Ayyıldız on 17 September 2014; the couple, who have two sons, Kemal and Uygar, divorced on 10 June 2024.
