Meltem Yılmazkaya — Biography

Trained at the Müjdat Gezen Art Center before graduating from the Theatre Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Yeditepe University, Meltem Yılmazkaya is a Turkish actress and singer born on 27 November 1984 in Istanbul. Known since 2013 for playing Mehtap on the BKM production Güldür Güldür Show, she had previously taken roles in Aldırma Gönül (2013), Aşkın Halleri (2012), 5'er Beşer (2011), Şen Yuva (2010) and Benim Annem Bir Melek (2009), having launched her screen career in 2009 with Aile Saadeti.

On the big screen she appeared in Eski Köye Yeni Adet (2018), Cici Babam (2018) and Kaçma Birader (2016) after making her cinema debut in Dedemin Fişi (2016); she also wrote and co-directed the short film "neden(siz)" about violence against women, which won first place at the İstanbul Kısa Filmciler Derneği competition, and volunteered on creative drama workshops through the GAP ÇATOM project. She lost her father in 2021, married in 2023 and became a mother the same year, and continues her role on Güldür Güldür Show.
