Ali Sunal — Biography
Ali Sunal was born on 22 September 1977 in Istanbul, the son of veteran actor Kemal Sunal. He trained in business administration at Yeditepe University before completing that same field at Istanbul University in 1999, gaining stage experience along the way at the Sadri Alışık Cultural Center and Dormen Theatre and then joining the Tiyatro İstanbul ensemble.
He made his screen debut in 1999 opposite his father as Mahmut in Propaganda. Wider recognition followed his portrayal of Mustafa in En Son Babalar Duyar, and he went on to appear in the series Benim Annem Bir Melek and Yaprak Dökümü. His film credits include Yusuf Yusuf, Hayat Öpücüğü, Dedemin Fişi and Hava Muhalefeti.
Since 2013 he has directed the sketch programme Güldür Güldür Show on Show TV while also performing in it as the character Aziz. In his personal life, he was briefly married to actress Gökçe Bahadır from 2011 to 2012, and has been married to lawyer Nazlı Kurbanzade since 2018.
