Doğa Rutkay — Biography

Doğa Rutkay Kamal was born on 30 October 1978 in Ankara to theatre actor Rutkay Aziz and Nuran Duru; her parents separated when she was five. After graduating from the theatre department of Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory in 2000, she took the stage in 27 Numara, Terk and Averaj Takımı; she debuted on screen in 1998 with Çiçeği Büyütmek and joined Çağan Irmak's series Günaydın İstanbul Kardeş the following year.

She won wide recognition playing Layla in Aşkım Aşkım (2001-2008) alongside Emel Sayın and Mehmet Ali Erbil, then played Zeliş opposite Halil Ergün and Oya Aydoğan in Pembe Patikler. In Dersimiz Atatürk (2009), scripted by Turgut Özakman and directed by Hamdi Alkan, she played Latife Hanım opposite Halit Ergenç's Atatürk.

As a presenter she hosted Doğayla Gece Yarısı on Kanaltürk and Buyur Burdan Bak on Kanal D, and became widely known for comedy as Yeter on the BKM sketch show Güldür Güldür Show, whose cast she remains part of. After a relationship with comedian Şahan Gökbakar from 2005 to 2009, she married journalist Kerimcan Kamal on 3 September 2014; the couple's twins, born on 13 July 2018, were named Piraye and Rutkay Kerim. In 2026 she spoke publicly about leaving Istanbul for Urla and about never having wanted to become a mother.
