Tuba Büyüküstün — Biography

Tuba Büyüküstün was born on July 5, 1982, in Istanbul. She studied stage design and costume design at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, appearing in commercials during her university years before turning to acting at the encouragement of director Tomris Giritlioğlu.

She gained recognition in 2004 with the character Zarife in the series Çemberimde Gül Oya, then reached the height of her career with Ihlamurlar Altında in 2005 and the lead role in Asi in 2007. In the following years she appeared in productions such as Gönülçelen, 20 Dakika, Kara Para Aşk, and Cesur ve Güzel opposite Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ, and took part in the international production Rise of Empires: Ottoman.

Considered one of Turkey's highest-earning actresses and a UNICEF Turkey goodwill ambassador since 2014, Büyüküstün currently appears in the series Zeytin Ağacı, whose final season aired in 2026. She has twin daughters with actor Onur Saylak, to whom she was married from 2011 to 2017.
