Onur Saylak — Biography

Onur Saylak was born on May 12, 1977, in Ankara. He began his university studies in the Physics Department at Middle East Technical University, continued in the Public Administration Department at Ankara University's Faculty of Political Science, and completed his education at Bilkent University's Theatre Department. After performing with the Ankara State Theatre and Bilkent Theatres, he moved into television in 2003.

Saylak appeared in series such as Yabancı Damat, Asi, Nefes: Vatan Sağolsun, Gönülçelen, Ağır Roman, Hayat Ağacı, and Hatırla Gönül, and stepped into cinema in 2008 with his portrayal of Yusuf in the film Sonbahar. He reached wide audiences in 2016 playing the character Tevfik in the series Vatanım Sensin on Kanal D, and went on to appear in Kuzgun, Babil, Deha, and Gaddar.

Alongside acting, Saylak has also worked as a director and screenwriter, helming productions such as Daha, Şahsiyet, Uysallar, and Boğa Boğa, and he lectures on film and drama at Kadir Has University. He was married to actress Tuba Büyüküstün from 2011 to 2017, and the couple has twin daughters.
