Yabancı Damat is a Turkish comedy-drama series produced by Erler Film and broadcast on Kanal D on Friday evenings from 12 November 2004 to 15 June 2007. Spanning three seasons, it concluded with its 106th episode. The story follows Nazlı, the daughter of a family from Gaziantep, and Niko, a young Greek man, whose love faces the prejudices of their families when they decide to marry. Blending humour with drama and playing on the historic Greco-Turkish rivalry, the series became a major hit in both Turkey and Greece and turned its leading performers into stars. Filming began in Bodrum, continued on the Greek island of Symi and later moved to Gaziantep and Istanbul, with both Turkish and Greek music featured throughout. Nehir Erdoğan and Özgür Çevik take the lead roles, supported by established actors such as Erdal Özyağcılar, Sumru Yavrucuk and İlker Aksum. The series won the Golden Butterfly Award for Best Series.
