Aslı Altaylar — Biography

Born in Rize on 21 October 1980, Aslı Nimet Altaylar is a Turkish television and film actress who trained at the Müjdat Gezen Art Center's theatre programme before moving to the screen; she has also performed with Istanbul's Metropolitan Municipality City Theatres.

She made her screen debut in 1995 with Çiçek Taksi, and after Ayrılsak da Beraberiz (1999) and Tatlı Hayat (2001) found wide recognition playing Aysel in Yabancı Damat (2004). Three years later she brought Ayfer to life in the Sinekli Bakkal adaptation, then spent five seasons winning over audiences as Gülbin in Akasya Durağı, a role the entertainment press has kept returning to as late as 2026.

On the big screen she appeared in Ali'nin Sekiz Günü (2008) and Kanunsuzlar (2014), before returning to television as Ayten in the 2016 production Gülümse Yeter. On stage she has appeared in Anton Chekhov's Vişne Bahçesi (The Cherry Orchard) and Orhan Asena's Alemdar, and is remembered above all for warm, comedy-tinged neighbourhood characters.
