Nehir Erdoğan — Biography

Nehir Erdoğan is an actress who moved from television presenting into drama, best remembered as Nazlı Baklavacıoğlu in Yabancı Damat. The series set ratings records in Turkey and was the first Turkish drama sold to Greece, which introduced her to audiences in both countries. She now plays Zehra in the ATV series Altı Üstü İstanbul.

She grew up in İzmir, studied business administration at Marmara University and went on to a graduate programme in radio, television and cinema there. She first presented culture, arts and music news on TRT 1's live show Telepazar, then took roles in the series Koçum Benim and Estağfurullah Yokuşu. Her cinema debut came with Okul and Hababam Sınıfı Merhaba; in the same years she hosted programmes on NTV and Show TV, and in 2008 she co-presented Popstar Türkiye. After Yabancı Damat she played the lead in Meleğin Sırları, shot in Los Angeles, and later appeared in Son, Reaksiyon, Fi, Benim Adım Melek and Sana Söz.

She lived in the United States for a time before returning to Turkey for Yabancı Damat. She married the director Ahmet Sesigürgil and separated from him in 2017.
