Onur Büyüktopçu — Biography

Onur Büyüktopçu was born on 24 April 1982 in Istanbul, to a father from Çankırı and a mother of Balkan immigrant background. He lived in Karşıyaka until age eighteen before travelling to England, where he studied acting at the Academy of Creative Training in Brighton and the Act London Film Academy.

He began his acting career in 2003, playing Yusuf in the series Lise Defteri, and appeared in a commercial the same year. He took guest roles in the series Yabancı Damat and Doktorlar, and appeared in Güz Gülleri in 2010. In film, he appeared in Memleket Hikayeleri (2007) and Hürmüz Gelin (2009). Between 2015 and 2017 he gained wide recognition for playing Koray in the series Kiralık Aşk. Alongside acting, he moved into television hosting, presenting the cooking competition Yemekteyiz on TV8 from 2017 to 2019, the show Damat Bayıldı on Show TV in 2019, and, in 2020, both Çarkıfelek and Gelinim Mutfakta on Kanal D. Besides acting and presenting, he also works as a casting director, talent manager and stage actor.
