Emel Tümer — Biography

Emel Tümer is an actress from Adana who worked in Turkish film and television. Her career spanned about thirteen years, but nearly all of her filmography falls in the narrow window between 1981 and 1986, in the Yeşilçam era. She is best remembered for films such as Gırgır Ali, Vahşi Kan, İntikam Benim, Ölüme Son Adım and Çöl.

She began acting in 1981 with Makber, in which she played Sevda, and Yasak Aşk. The following year she played Mehlika Sultan in Leyla ile Mecnun, Doktor Hayal in Ağlayan Gülmedi mi? and a character named Emel in Gırgır Ali. 1983 was her busiest year: she played Leyla in Ölüme Son Adım and Akrepler, appeared in Çöl, Vahşi Kan, İntikam Benim and Kaderimiz, and took the part of Melike in the television series Alçaktan Uçan Güvercin. On İntikam Benim and Ölüme Son Adım she worked with names such as Cüneyt Arkın, Çetin İnanç and Baykal Kent. Sıra Sende Yosma, Yaz Bitti, Dikenli Dallar and Dönme Dolap followed in the mid-1980s.

After a long break from the screen she returned in 1994 as Emel in İhanet Çığlıkları and as Hacer in the series Âlem Buysa. She did not act in any other film or series after these productions.
