Fırat Çelik — Biography

Fırat Çelik (born 25 March 1981 in Ostfildern, Germany) is a Turkish-German actor of television, film and theatre. His family, originally from Bursa, returned to Turkey when he was two and settled in Tunceli; when he was nine they emigrated to France, and he grew up in the Paris suburb of Champigny-sur-Marne. After studying economics and administrative sciences at secondary school, he began working at nineteen and spent some time as a model. Encouraged by those around him, he auditioned with a monologue from Molière's L'Avare and trained at Raymond Acquaviva's Sudden Theatre workshops.

His professional stage career began in 2006 under director Thierry Harcourt in an adaptation of A Clockwork Orange; in 2007 he joined the Comédie de Paris company and appeared in several short films. His first feature was Philippe Lioret's Welcome (2009), whose screening as the opening film of the Istanbul Film Festival brought him to Turkey for the first time, where he soon took the lead in the series Kış Masalı. He became widely known as Mustafa in Fatmagül'ün Suçu Ne?, followed by series such as 20 Dakika, Gönül İşleri, Poyraz Karayel, Saklı and Yalı Çapkını, and films including 8 Saniye (2014) and Gelin Takımı (2024).
