Welcome (Hoşgeldiniz)

Hoşgeldiniz (Welcome) is a 2009 drama by the French director Philippe Lioret. Set in Calais, it tells the story of Bilal, a young Kurd determined to swim across the English Channel to reach the girl he loves, and Simon, the swimming coach who trains him. Vincent Lindon takes the lead role in this Nord-Ouest Films production, whose cast also includes Fırat Çelik. With its powerful gaze on migration and conscience, the film resonated widely on the international stage.
