Giorgio Faletti — Biography

Giorgio Faletti, born on 25 November 1950 in Asti, Piedmont, trained as a lawyer before building a wide-ranging career as a stand-up comedian, singer and television presenter in Italy, later moving into acting and, eventually, into fiction writing. His screen credits include Notte prima degli esami, Il segreto di Rahil and Baarìa. As a novelist he found remarkable international success, with his books translated into more than twenty-five languages and selling widely across Europe, South America, China, Japan, Russia and the United States. He spent much of his life on the island of Elba and died in Turin on 4 July 2014.
