Gökşen Ateş — Biography

Gökşen Ateş is a Turkish actress born on April 4, 1984, in Istanbul. After a conservatory-based theater education, she turned to on-screen acting and, throughout the 2010s, appeared in the casts of some of Turkey's most-watched television series.

Ateş began her acting training at the Müjdat Gezen Art Center Conservatory, then went on to study in the Musical Theater Department of Istanbul University State Conservatory. She built the first step of her career on this musical theater background.

Her television career began in 2011 with three consecutive series projects. The comedy series Geniş Aile, featuring Fırat Tanış and Bora Akkaş, was her first on-screen experience; around the same time she appeared in the casts of Öyle Bir Geçer Zamanki, starring Erkan Petekkaya, Aras Bulut İynemli, and Elçin Sangu, and Kuzey Güney, in which Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ, Buğra Gülsoy, and Bade İşçil shared the lead roles. In 2015 she took roles in Aşk ve Günah, featuring Zeynep Elçin and Ezgi Baran, and Galip Derviş, with Canan Ergüder, Celil Nalçakan, and Ayşenil Şamlıoğlu.

The production that introduced her to a wide audience was Çukur, which began airing on Show TV in 2017. Ateş played the character Yıldız in the series, working alongside names such as Aras Bulut İynemli, Erkan Kolçak Köstendil, Dilan Çiçek Deniz, Ercan Kesal, Erkan Avcı, Alperen Duymaz, and Cem Uslu. Yıldız became the first role to be closely associated with her name, and the character's arc throughout the series was frequently discussed in the press.

After Çukur, the actress continued her television work and, according to press reports, took on the character Tansu in Sakla Beni and Ayşegül in Kral Kaybederse. Records of her private life mention a relationship with Can Albayrak.
