Hayko Cepkin — Biography

Hayko Cepkin (born 11 March 1978 in Istanbul) is a Turkish singer, songwriter, composer and actor of Armenian descent. His music blends alternative metal, industrial and Anatolian rock with melodic passages.

After graduating from the Getronagan high school, he studied music for two years at Mimar Sinan University, took solfège and harmony courses at the Timur Selçuk Modern Music Center, and spent another year at the Istanbul Academy. During these years he performed with well-known Turkish artists and contributed compositions to their albums. Since 1997 he has been the singer and keyboardist of his own band.

With the band Hayko Cepkin, founded in 2005, he released his debut album Sakin Olmam Lazım, followed by Tanışma Bitti (2007), Sandık (2010), Aşkın Izdırabını (2012) and Beni Büyüten Şarkılar Vol. 1 (2016). As an actor he appeared in the film Çocuk (2008) and as the narrator of the series Acayip Hikayeler (2012).
