İnci Türkay — Biography

İnci Türkay is one of the actresses most loved by Turkish children and families. She became known as Betüş in the fantasy series Sihirli Annem, which began on Kanal D: she led it from 2003 to 2006 and returned to the role in the revived seasons of 2011-2012. With that character she was voted favourite series heroine at the Engelsiz Yaşam Vakfı awards, and in 2025 she again starred in the series' sequel film, Sihirli Annem: Hepimiz Biriz.

She had first won a place in the philosophy department at Boğaziçi University but left it, re-sat the entrance exam and trained in the theatre department of Hacettepe University's Ankara State Conservatory. She worked at the state theatres of Diyarbakır, Trabzon and Ankara and, from 2000, appeared in several plays at Tiyatro İstanbul, starting with Sylvia. Her television career began in 2001 with Dünya Varmış; she then played in İki Oda Bir Sinan and presented the Kanal D children's programme Duma Duma Dum. After Sihirli Annem she appeared in Teyzanne, Cuma'ya Kalsa, Rengarenk and Köstebekgiller (as Ceyda), and played Suna in the film Arkadaşım Max.

In 2009 she opened Tayga Toys, selling wooden, recycled toys, and in 2017 she founded Inci's Drama Club, which teaches theatre to children in England. Since 2026 she has been on stage in Jennifer Tremblay's one-woman play Liste.
