Michel Boisrond — Biography

Michel Jacques Boisrond was born on 9 October 1921 in the French town of Châteauneuf-en-Thymerais and died in La Celle-Saint-Cloud, Yvelines, on 10 November 2002. He worked in French cinema as a director, screenwriter and assistant director, with a career running from the 1950s into the 1990s. He became known for comedies such as Naughty Girl (Cette sacrée gamine, 1956), which starred Brigitte Bardot, and Three Murderesses (1959), and he also directed a segment of the multi-director anthology film Love and the Frenchwoman. He additionally took a small acting role in Jean-Pierre Melville's classic Le Samouraï (1967), released in Turkey as Kiralık Katil. He was married to screenwriter Annette Wademant. One of his later directing credits, Le Bon Plaisir, reached cinemas in 1984.
