Nazan Saatçi — Biography

Nazan Saatçi (born 22 June 1958 in Samsun) is a Turkish film actress and writer who appeared in more than twenty Yeşilçam productions between the mid-1970s and the mid-1990s. Most sources agree on 22 June 1958, although some records carry only the year.

She finished secondary school in Samsun and read Turkish language and literature at Istanbul University. She later trained as an actor at the Los Angeles Actor Center and studied hypnotherapy in California and Florida. Her best-known screen role is Emine in Tokatçı (1983), opposite Kemal Sunal; other credits include Baba Kartal (1979), Ölümsüz (1982), Bir Zamanlar Kardeştiler (1983), Minyeli Abdullah 2 (1990) and Korkunun Bedeli (1995). English-language sources add that she was second runner-up at the 1983 Miss Asia Pacific pageant.

At the height of her fame she left Turkey and settled in the United States. Turkish newspapers including Sabah, Hürriyet and Sözcü have reported in recent years that she still lives there and occasionally returns to public attention at home.
