Playing with Death
Playing with Death (known in Turkey as Korkunun Bedeli) is a 1995 Iranian-Turkish co-production blending crime, drama and thriller elements. Directed by Hamid Tamjidi, who co-wrote the screenplay with Maryam Bakhtiar, the Persian-language film was shot in both Iran and Turkey and produced by Alireza Zarif for IRIB Television.
The story follows the efforts of people trying to catch a ruthless killer who constantly changes his appearance. Running about 120 minutes according to SinemaTürk records, the film features Hamideh Kheirabadi and Hamid Tamjidi alongside Turkish performers, including Cüneyt Arkın as a guest star and Salih Kırmızı, Nazan Saatçi and Bülent Bolat. Persian sources note that the film is the condensed cinema version of a television series, which was later broadcast in full on Iranian TV.
