Nesli Çölgeçen — Biography

Nesli Çölgeçen is a Turkish film director and screenwriter born in 1955 in Manisa. After graduating from Ankara University's Faculty of Political Science in 1976, he entered the film industry and began his directing career with documentaries in the late 1970s.

He later moved into feature filmmaking, directing titles such as "Kardeşim Benim," "Selamsız Bandosu," and "İmdat ile Zarife," with his best-known work being the 1985 film "Züğürt Ağa." In subsequent years he continued directing films including "Ankara'yı Seviyorum," "Oyunbozan," "Son Buluşma," and "Çalsın Sazlar."

Çölgeçen has written the screenplays for many of the films he directed, building a long career in Turkish cinema as both a director and a screenwriter.
