Şahika Tekand — Biography
Şahika Tekand (born 1959 in İzmir) is a Turkish stage and film actress, playwright, director and acting teacher. She studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Dokuz Eylül University.
On screen since the 1980s, she has appeared in films such as Adı Vasfiye (1985), Anayurt Oteli (1987), Afife Jale (1987), Su da Yanar (1987), Gece Yolculuğu (1988), Sarı Tebessüm (1992), Yengeç Sepeti (1994) and Akrebin Yolculuğu (1997).
Her work has centred on the theatre: she wrote and directed the play "Io" and staged an adaptation of Samuel Beckett's "Play", while also working as a lighting and sound designer. She continues to perform, direct and teach acting.
