Sebahat Kumaş — Biography

Sebahat Kumaş was born in 1989 in Aydın; as a child she moved with her family first to İzmir and then to Istanbul. Interested in photography from her middle-school years, she completed higher education in the Photography Department of Anadolu University's Open Education Faculty and trained as an actress at Ekol Drama.

She began her acting career playing a nurse in the series Arka Sıradakiler, then appeared in Adanalı before joining the cast of the long-running series Arka Sokaklar in 2006. She reached a wider audience with Muhteşem Yüzyıl in 2011, and became known for playing Melek in Karagül in 2013.

She played Diyar Sarıkaya in the Fox series Kalbimdeki Deniz (2016), took on a role in Zümrüdüanka, and played Rüya in Aşk Mantık İntikam (2021). In 2018 her relationship with actor Alper Potuk also became public and drew tabloid attention.
