Şebnem Schaefer — Biography

Şebnem Schaefer was born on 9 February 1984 in Frankfurt. Her mother is Turkish and her father German; her full name is Jennifer Simone Macide Şebnem Schäfer. She began modelling at the age of 15.

At Goethe University she studied Turkology, cultural anthropology and European ethnology, with a minor in psychoanalysis. In 2006 she joined the CDU and became interested in politics, and in 2009 she studied politics and public administration in Hagen.

She made her acting debut in 2003 with the series Lise Defteri and played the same year in the film O Şimdi Asker. She became known for her role as nurse Alev in the series Emret Komutanım. She acted in the series Üç Tatlı Cadı and in the films Dünyayı Kurtaran Adam'ın Oğlu and Renklerde Kaybolan Hayat. She also worked as a presenter and was among the celebrity contestants of the Stil Avcıları competition on Fox TV.

In 2025 she attended a sıra gecesi event in Şanlıurfa; in an interview in early 2026 she spoke about living with obsessive-compulsive disorder.
