Şeyma Korkmaz — Biography

Şeyma Korkmaz was born on 20 December 1988 in Eskişehir. After finishing primary school there, she moved with her family to Çanakkale, where she attended the Painting Department of the Çanakkale Fine Arts High School and later graduated from the Painting Teaching Department of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University. She worked as a photo model during her student years.

Korkmaz began acting in 2011 as Yağmur in the series Hayata Beş Kala, and became widely known the same year for playing Feride in the eight-season series Beni Affet, a role for which she was named best actress of the Middle East and North Africa in 2018. She moved into cinema in 2015 with the film Öyle yada Böyle, then appeared in the period series Kuruluş Osman (2019) and Barbaros (2021), leaving her role as Mari in Kuruluş Osman in 2022. That same year she played Sude in Bir Küçük Gün Işığı, and the following year took on the character Süreyya in Kardeşlerim. She got engaged to fellow actor Cüneyt Mete in 2018 and married him in 2019.
