Sungun Babacan — Biography

Born on 5 October 1958 in Ankara, Sungun Babacan graduated from Hacettepe University's Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences before launching his voice-acting career at TRT, where he also hosted a program in the mid-1980s. Over the years he also worked as a translator and dubbing director, lending his voice to Hollywood stars such as Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks, Mel Gibson, Tom Cruise and John Travolta, as well as animated characters like Daffy Duck.

Babacan voiced Batman in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, the lead character in Forrest Gump, and John Travolta's character in Pulp Fiction, and he also voiced Lucian in the Turkish version of League of Legends, later teaching dubbing as well.

After a period of illness, Sungun Babacan died in Istanbul on 6 August 2022.
