Talat Hüseyin — Biography
Talat Hüseyin, born Talat Hussain Warsi on 18 September 1940 in Delhi, died on 26 May 2024 in Karachi. He was the son of Shaista Begum, one of the pioneering voices of Radio Pakistan, and Altaf Hussain Warsi; growing up in a broadcasting household shaped his early path toward performance.
After training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, he built a career spanning film and television and received some of Pakistan's highest honors, including the Pride of Performance, Nigar Awards and Sitara-i-Imtiaz. Admired for the range of his roles and for later mentoring younger actors, he came to be called 'the Pakistani Laurence Olivier.' His screen work included the role of Polat in the 1971 film Malkoçoğlu Ölüm Fedaileri.
