The Pains of Love (Aşkın Acıları) (translated)
Aşkın Acıları is a black-and-white Turkish drama and romance film released in 1959. Hüseyin Kaşif both wrote the screenplay and directed the picture, while Refik Ünkan served as producer for the production company Hedef Film and Lazar Yazıcıoğlu handled the cinematography.
The leading roles are shared by Muhterem Nur and Ahmet Mekin, two well-known performers of the era, with Nezihe Becerikli, Atıf Kaptan and Salih Tozan also appearing in the cast. The film belongs to a period when cinema audiences in Türkiye were expanding quickly and İstanbul studios were producing dozens of melodramas each year. It also stands among the early works of Ahmet Mekin, who would go on to build a long and prolific screen career.
