Atomic Ivan

Atomic Ivan (Атомный Иван) is a 2012 Russian romantic comedy directed and written by Vasily Barkhatov. Shot in its original Russian language, the film features music by Sergey Shnurov and stars Grigori Dobrıgin as Ivan, with Yuliya Snigir also among the cast.

The production holds a unique place in film history as the first feature film shot at operational nuclear power plants, filmed at the Kalinin and Leningrad plants with the backing of the state corporation Rosatom. This unusual setting lends the romantic comedy a distinctive atmosphere. The film had its world premiere on 27 September 2011 in London, at the symposium of the World Association of Nuclear Operators, and opened in Russian cinemas on 29 March 2012.
