Grigoriy Eduardovich Dobrygin (also rendered Dobrigin) is a Russian film and theatre actor, director, screenwriter and producer, born on 17 February 1986 in Vilyuchinsk, Kamchatka. Trained as a classical ballet dancer before studying acting at the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts, he first drew wide attention playing Russia's first cinematic superhero in the 2009 film Black Lightning.
His performance in How I Ended This Summer (2010) won him critical acclaim and a Silver Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival, establishing him as one of Russia's most closely watched young actors. He went on to appear in Western productions such as A Most Wanted Man (2014) and Black Sea, alongside continued roles in Russian and European cinema including Territory, Atomic Ivan, 4 Days in May, Grain and Matilda.
