Aventure de Catherine C.

Aventure de Catherine C. is a 1990 French-Italian co-production directed by Pierre Beuchot, blending drama with comic touches. The film is based on Pierre Jean Jouve's literary diptych Aventure de Catherine Crachat, which brings together two of his novels, Hécate (1928) and Vagadu (1931). Beuchot wrote the screenplay together with Catherine Breillat and Jouve himself. The lead roles are played by French star Fanny Ardant and renowned German actress Hanna Schygulla, supported by Robin Renucci, André Wilms and Marianne Denicourt. Shot in French, the picture runs roughly 100 minutes.
