Callas Forever
Callas Forever is a 2002 biographical drama directed by Franco Zeffirelli, who co-wrote the screenplay with Martin Sherman. A co-production between France, the United Kingdom and Italy, the film portrays a fictionalised episode from the final year of the legendary opera singer Maria Callas.
The film serves as Zeffirelli's tribute to his friend Callas, whom he had directed on stage in productions of Norma, La traviata and Tosca. Fanny Ardant stars in the title role, with Gabriel Garko also in the cast. It was Zeffirelli's last feature film before his death in 2019.
