Gabriel Garko — Biography
Gabriel Garko, born Dario Gabriel Oliviero on 12 July 1972 in Turin, is an Italian actor who also had an earlier career as a fashion model. After being named Italy's top male model in 1991, he moved into acting toward the end of the 1990s, working mostly in television roles at first. He drew wider attention on screen opposite Fanny Ardant in the 2002 film Callas Forever. His real breakthrough came in 2006, playing mob boss Tonio Fortebracci on the series L'onore e il rispetto, a role that made him one of Italy's most recognizable television performers. He has continued to work across both film and television since, and in 2016 he co-hosted the Sanremo Music Festival.
