The Ignorant Fairies (Cahil Periler)

The Ignorant Fairies (Le fate ignoranti) is a 2001 drama film directed by Turkish-Italian filmmaker Ferzan Özpetek. An Italian-French co-production with a screenplay by Özpetek and Gianni Romoli, it was the director's first film shot entirely in Italy. Released on DVD in the United States as His Secret Life, the film drew wide attention abroad and enjoyed box-office success.

The story centers on Antonia, whose husband Massimo dies suddenly in a car accident. Sorting through belongings sent from his office, she finds a mysterious painting and begins to suspect he had been unfaithful. Her search reveals that Massimo had carried on a years-long secret relationship with a man named Michele. Margherita Buy and Stefano Accorsi lead the cast. In 2022, Özpetek adapted the film into an eight-episode television series for Disney+ under the same title.
