Dear Louise

Chère Louise is a 1972 French-Italian drama directed by Philippe de Broca, adapted from Jean-Louis Curtis's novella L'Éphèbe de Subiaco. The screenplay was written by de Broca together with Jean-Loup Dabadie. Jeanne Moreau heads the cast, which also includes Lucienne Legrand and Yves Robert. The film opened in France in September 1972 and was selected for competition at that year's Cannes Film Festival. Running about 105 minutes, it later received renewed attention when it screened in the Cannes Classics section of the 2021 Cannes Film Festival.
