Treasure Planet (Define Gezegeni) (translated)

Movie · 2002 · 1 people

Treasure Planet is a 2002 American animated science fiction adventure film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and co-directed by Ron Clements and John Musker. It reimagines Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel Treasure Island in outer space, where solar-powered spaceships are designed to resemble 18th-century sailing vessels.

The story follows Jim Hawkins, a rebellious teenager still hurt by his father's abandonment. When a mysterious sphere in his possession turns out to be a map to the legendary Treasure Planet, Jim sets off across the galaxy aboard a ship with an eccentric, motley crew. Forced to work in the galley, he grows suspicious that the enigmatic cyborg cook John Silver is hunting the same fortune for himself.

The film is notable for its technique of layering hand-drawn 2D animation over 3D computer-generated imagery. Despite weak box-office returns, it earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature and later gained a devoted cult following. This record also covers the film's Turkish dubbing: Ayça Bingöl provided a voice in the Turkish-language version.
