The World Is Not Enough (Dünya Yetmez)

The World Is Not Enough (1999) is the nineteenth entry in Eon Productions' James Bond series and the third to feature Pierce Brosnan as MI6 agent 007. Directed by Michael Apted, the film opens with the assassination of billionaire oil magnate Sir Robert King by the terrorist Renard. Bond is assigned to protect King's daughter Elektra (Sophie Marceau), whom Renard once kidnapped for ransom. As his mission takes him to Azerbaijan and into the world of oil politics, Bond uncovers a plot to drive up petroleum prices by triggering a nuclear meltdown in the waters off Istanbul. Along the way he teams up with nuclear physicist Dr. Christmas Jones and must also rescue M from danger. Shot in Spain, France, Azerbaijan, Turkey and the United Kingdom, the film received mixed reviews yet grossed over $361 million worldwide, ranking among the highest-earning releases of 1999. Its theme song was performed by the band Garbage, and it was the first Eon Bond picture released under the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer label rather than United Artists.
