Night Journey (Gece Yolculuğu)

Night Journey is a 1987 Turkish drama film written, produced, and directed by Ömer Kavur. Supported by music from Attila Özdemiroğlu, the film stands out for its modern and European atmosphere for its time.

In the film, Aytaç Arman plays a screenwriter who travels across Anatolia with his business partner Yavuz in search of an inspiring filming location. This journey transcends the mere search for a location, transforming into a voyage into the character's inner world, his creative block, and his existential questions. Filming took place in locations including Istanbul, Ayvalık, Aydın, Milas, Muğla, Fethiye, and Kayaköy.

Starring Aytaç Arman and Macit Koper, and also featuring Zuhal Olcay, Şahika Tekand, and Nurseli İdiz, the film was screened in the Un Certain Regard section of the 41st Cannes Film Festival. At the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, it won four awards: Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Cinematography, bringing Ömer Kavur his third Golden Orange Award for Best Director.
