If It Don't Fit, Use a Bigger Hammer (German: Was nicht passt, wird passend gemacht) is a 2002 German comedy directed by Peter Thorwarth from a screenplay by Matthias Dinter, adapted from Thorwarth's own 1997 short film of the same name. The story unfolds on a construction site in the eastern Ruhr area near Unna, where a crew of easygoing workmen with a make-it-fit attitude scheme against their tight-fisted boss Werner, who habitually neglects to pay their wages, while also coping with a conceited architecture student, an asbestos hazard and an unexploded wartime bomb. Hilmi Sözer appears in the cast. Together with Bang Boom Bang (1999) and Goldene Zeiten (2006), the film forms the so-called Unna trilogy. It received the Jupiter audience award for best German film of 2002 at the Berlinale, and a television series adaptation aired on ProSieben the following year.
