La cloche tibétaine

La cloche tibétaine is a seven-episode French-West German adventure miniseries first aired in 1974. Directed by Serge Friedman and Michel Wyn, it takes its inspiration from an actual event: the Croisière Jaune, the Yellow Expedition of 1931-1932, a Citroën-backed overland trek across Asia. Gilles Béhat heads the cast, with a young Coluche appearing early in his career, joined by performers such as Wolfgang Preiss, Philippe Léotard and Karl-Otto Alberty. French viewers saw it on the ORTF's first channel beginning in December 1974 in installments of about 55 minutes each, while West Germany's ZDF recut it into thirteen shorter parts and broadcast it as Die gelbe Karawane from November 1975. The series was also shown in Québec on Radio-Canada.
