Elle court, elle court la banlieue is a 1973 French-Italian co-production comedy directed by Gérard Pirès, from a screenplay by Nicole de Buron. The film adapts Brigitte Gros's 1970 novel Quatre heures de transport par jour and offers a humorous portrait of daily life in the suburbs around Paris. Its central theme is the exhausting routine of commuting, work and sleep — summed up by the French expression 'métro, boulot, dodo' — as the characters shuttle endlessly between home and workplace.

Shot largely in Aubergenville, near Paris, the film features a large ensemble cast including Victor Lanoux, Jean-Pierre Darras, Marthe Keller, the comedian Coluche, Robert Castel and Jacques Legras. Originally in French, it stands as one of the socially observant comedies that characterized French popular cinema in the early 1970s.
