Marthe Keller — Biography
Marthe Keller is a Swiss film and stage performer born on 28 January 1945 in Basel. Active in her craft since the mid-1960s, she has also worked as a singer, dancer and theatre director alongside acting. International recognition followed her part opposite Dustin Hoffman in John Schlesinger's Marathon Man, work that brought her a Golden Globe nomination. Around the same period she took roles in the thrillers Black Sunday and Bobby Deerfield, and over the decades built a filmography spanning French, Italian, German and American productions. She holds French honors including knighthood in the Legion of Honour and officer rank in the Order of Arts and Letters, and was for many years the partner of director Philippe de Broca. Well into her eighties, she still takes on film and television roles today.
