Jacques Legras — Biography
Jacques Legras was born on 25 October 1923 in Bois-Colombes and died on 15 March 2006 in Paris. He worked as a French film, stage and television actor. For much of his career he belonged to Robert Dhéry's Branquignols ensemble, taking part with that troupe in a long string of comic films and theatrical productions. He was also among the performers featured on Caméra invisible, an early hidden-camera show on French television. Across the decades he built a reputation for memorable supporting turns, often cast as clerks, lawyers or hotel managers, appearing in pictures such as The Four Charlots Musketeers, Hibernatus and A Slightly Pregnant Man. He remained a familiar face of French popular cinema until his death.
