Hibernatus is a 1969 French-Italian science fiction comedy directed by Édouard Molinaro and adapted from Jean Bernard-Luc's stage play of the same name. Louis de Funès stars as Hubert Barrère de Tartas, a prosperous industrialist whose orderly existence is thrown into turmoil when a long-lost relative of his wife Edmée (Claude Gensac), who vanished decades earlier in the ice, is discovered frozen but alive and brought into the family home. Awakened from his lengthy hibernation, the man re-emerges with the manners and habits of a bygone era, and his presence soon threatens both the household's harmony and Tartas's business affairs.
