Mon cure chez les Thailandaises

Mon cure chez les Thailandaises is a 1983 French comedy written and directed by Robert Thomas. A comedy sprinkled with nudity, it continues the story from Thomas's previous film, Mon curé chez les nudistes (1982), but without that picture's lead, Paul Préboist, whose part was handed to Maurice Risch. To date it stands as the last film built around the 'Mon curé' character. The supporting cast features performers such as Darry Cowl and Jacques Legras.

The 'Mon curé' character grew out of Clément Vautel's novels Mon curé chez les pauvres and Mon curé chez les riches, first brought to the stage and then to the cinema. Across the years, the films in which the character appears slid gradually from plain comedies into works labeled 'nanar,' a French term for movies so clumsy they become cult objects. Whereas the earlier entry earned 1,173,770 admissions in 1982, this sequel drew very few spectators and is regarded by some as belonging to that nanar tradition.
