Victor Lanoux — Biography

Victor Lanoux, born Victor Robert Nataf on 18 June 1936 in the 14th arrondissement of Paris, was a French film, stage and television actor who died on 4 May 2017 in Vaux-sur-Mer. Beyond acting he also worked as a screenwriter and playwright. Over a career spanning more than forty films, roughly twenty stage productions and numerous television projects, he became best known for a leading role in a mid-1970s French comedy directed by Jean-Charles Tacchella, a performance that earned him a César Award nomination for Best Actor. He later reached wide television audiences playing an antique dealer in the France 3 series Louis la Brocante. Lanoux was in a long relationship with actress Marie-José Nat. He remained an active and respected figure in French cinema and theatre throughout his life.
