Act of Aggression
Act of Aggression (original title: L'Agression) is a 1975 thriller produced as a French-Italian co-production and directed by Gérard Pirès. Jean-Patrick Manchette wrote the screenplay, adapting John Buell's story The Shrewsdale Exit for the screen. Jean-Louis Trintignant and Catherine Deneuve take the leading roles, supported by a cast that includes Milena Vukotic as well as Claude Brasseur and Daniel Auteuil. Backed by Gaumont, the picture opened in France in April 1975 and ran for about 101 minutes, combining crime and drama elements. Later that year it was presented in the official selection of the 1975 San Sebastián International Film Festival. It is generally counted among the French genre productions of the 1970s.
