Milena Vukotic — Biography

Milena Vukotic was born on 23 April 1935 in Rome to a family of Montenegrin descent. A former ballerina, she has built a long-running career acting on Italian screens and stages. She began appearing in films in the early 1960s and worked repeatedly with director Luis Buñuel, including on The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie and Le Fantôme de la liberté. One of her best-known recurring roles is Pina Fantozzi in the Fantozzi comedy film series. Her filmography also includes Blood for Dracula, Act of Aggression, and Saturday, Sunday and Friday. Over her career she has received honors such as the David di Donatello Award for Lifetime Achievement, the Nastro d'Argento for Best Supporting Actress, and the Grolla d'oro for Best New Actress. She has continued acting in recent years, appearing in Ferzan Özpetek's film Diamonds.
