Luigi Diberti — Biography

Luigi Diberti was born on 29 September 1939 in Turin and is an Italian actor and voice actor. After training at Rome's Accademia Nazionale d'Arte Drammatica (National Academy of Dramatic Arts), he took small parts on stage before gaining recognition in 1968 through Luca Ronconi's production of L'Orlando Furioso. That same year he moved into film with Maurizio Ponzi's The Visionaries. He went on to appear in pictures directed by Dino Risi, Michelangelo Antonioni, Lina Wertmüller and Elio Petri, and worked repeatedly on stage with director Giorgio Strehler. Since 1968 he has taken part in more than a hundred film and television productions, including playing Ettore Salimbeni across three seasons of the miniseries La Piovra and Monsignor Demetrio Antinori in Il tredicesimo apostolo.
