The Psychic
Sette note in nero, known in English-speaking markets as The Psychic, is a 1977 Italian giallo directed by Lucio Fulci, who wrote the screenplay together with Roberto Gianviti and Dardano Sacchetti. Jennifer O'Neill heads the cast alongside Gabriele Ferzetti, Marc Porel, Gianni Garko, Ida Galli, and Jenny Tamburi. O'Neill plays Virginia, a woman tormented by a disturbing vision of a corpse sealed behind a wall. When her husband is arrested for murder, she joins forces with a researcher of paranormal phenomena to conduct her own investigation and clear his name. As she follows the clues hidden in her premonitions, it gradually emerges that what she saw may not belong to the past at all, and she is drawn ever deeper into mortal danger. Loosely inspired by Vieri Razzini's novel Terapia mortale, the picture reached Italian cinemas in August 1977 through distributor Cineriz, and circulated abroad under several alternate titles.
